Staff News

  • Congratulations to Rob Nunez, who won a full scholarship to attend a weeklong Research Institute for Public Libraries training. RIPL provides high tech training for understanding community demographics and trends through data mining and visualization. 
  • Congratulations to Zander Miller for his work in securing Kenosha’s team spot  in the 18 month community engagement program Wisconsin Libraries Transforming Communities. Together with Brandon Morris, Manager of Community Engagement  with Building Our Future, Zander will learn the Harwood techniques for bringing diverse communities to the table for collective impact. 
  • Congratulations to Stephanie for landing a ProLiteracy grant award to fund job skills training, partnering with Shalom Center.
  • Congratulations to Heather for writing a successful grant to fund a collaboration with KUSD to diversify library collections and provide $10,000 to host a well known children’s author in Kenosha.


  • Join us February 17th, 1pm in the Storytime Room at SW as we kick off our Building Common Ground series with community discussions about the national debt. Alejandria and Linda will be leading, using their skills from Harwood Institute training and and curriculum from the National Issues Forum. 

I'll be in San Diego the rest of the week at the Equitable Results Series training with Building Our Future. Rob and Linda are in charge in my absence. See you on Monday!
