News for the Week

• It's shredding time again! Expect cars in our NS and SW parking lots for a city-wide shredding event on Saturday, March 28th, 9am-1pm.
• Interesting article on how Wisconsin libraries have adapted service to the changing needs of our constituents. Or listen to similar piece from NPR.

• Our 2020 all-staff in-service day will be held on Monday, October 12th. Expect to be closed that day and please do your best to schedule time off around this important day so that you can not only immerse in training to help you do your job better, but spend time with other staff members you may not often see. We'll send a survey out to see what tops the list for training needs.

• Congratulations to Lisa Langsdorf who was awarded a Phi Delta Kappa Friend of Education Award!  And that's not all! Kenosha Public Library Outreach Services is one of Phi Delta Kappa's Contemporary Education Program Award winners.

Here's what the awards mean:
Friend of Education: An individual who is a non-educator that is recognized for significant service and a positive record of support for Education. They provide creative leadership in inspiring or motivating others to achieve or contribute to education.
Contemporary Educational Program: An individual or superior program that has significantly impacted staff, students, parents and community far beyond the ordinary; advanced the cause of education through advocacy and leadership; and/or motivated and inspired others to find solutions to challenges found within the school system.

So if you would like to come to shop the Friday Pre-Sale please do!We have extended hours for the February sale! There is a lot of material to move and our hope is that by extending the hours we will be able to sell more books. The hours are below. The sale will be at Northside on February 21-23.
Friday Pre-Sale 4 - 7 pm : FOL Members Only (you can join at the door)

Saturday  9 am - 5 pm
