New Library Color Renditions

I'm so excited to share these architect renderings of the new Children's Library interior! The link should open a list of images for you to look through. Imagine these spaces full of happy children and their caregivers, books shelves brimming with beautiful children's books. It's going to happen! Can't wait for opening day!

This week I nominate Katie Meeker for the Bright Spot Award. I overheard a long and arduous conversation between Katie and a disgruntled patron yesterday that Katie masterfully navigated. The patron left simply charmed and delighted. It was inspiring to witness.

"I'm very happy to share that Kenosha Public Library Outreach Services has been chosen to receive an annual national award at this year's ABOS conference in Hershey, PA. Here is the information about the award we will receive:
Preschool Outreach and School Services Inspirations Award:
Presented annually to a library, department, or an individual who has provided exemplary library outreach services to children and students in their community, from age infant to college.
I was asked to submit a group photo of our Outreach Department by the end of the month. I have a date on the calendar next week that i think we will all be here to take a photo. I'm very proud of this team!"

Goodbye dreary old library!

The Northside transformation is complete! Look at this gorgeous new desk and the bright spaces everywhere! Congrats to Jennifer and her team for dreaming up such a beautiful interior.

We're getting closer! Latest estimate for a grand opening in March 2024. The online Children's Library Fundraiser at Blue House Books is live. Please share with all your friends and family. Purchase a book for the new children's library at a 20% discount.

Congratulations to Kahlil who is featured in this month's WLA Member Spotlight! Congratulations to Marcia who has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services (ABOS) and she will co-chair the membership committee. She has previously served ABOS as a member of the Technology and Conference committees.
