News for This Week

Happy Monday!

It's going to be a great summer! Heather reports 596 kids & teens were already signed up for Summer Reading on Friday evening, one day before the official launch. Glad we'll have extra help in YFS with our Summer Scholars Elizabeth and Katie and with Megan in Outreach! Today we welcome Kendall as our new Inventory Control Specialist at SW.
June will see a couple more people joining us, as well. Zander will be our new Digital Strategy Librarian, filling in needed hours in ADS, and Linda Noyce, our new Division Head for Public Services will come to us from Florida mid-month.

This from Jill-
The Bookmobile is off the road this week for scheduled maintenance.  We'll be back on the road this Saturday at Harbor Market to begin our new summer schedule, which can be found on the website at mykpl.info/bookmobile.
Home delivery and lobby stops will continue as usual. As always, questions from staff or patrons may be directed to 564-6190.

I'll be at SW with Aaron Robinson this afternoon to meet and greet our after school crowd. Aaron will be assigned to SW Mon-Thurs 3-8 until the end of the school year.

And finally, just a word about social media. Our staff Social Media Policy provides guidelines about what we on the KPL team, should consider as we post on our personal Facebook and other social media sites. The policy covers things like harassment and privacy, which are legally essential to follow. The policy also encourages us all to consider how we want the public to think about KPL. I love the library, and I know you do, too. Let's put our best foot forward.
